In brief

Mabee Farm opens for the season
The Mabee Farm Historic Site is now open for the season, with a new exhibit: "Stoneware: Crocks, Jugs and Pots."
Salt-glazed stoneware has long been sought after by collectors. A number of these beautiful crocks, jugs and pots were left on the property when George E. Franchere donated the Mabee Farm to the Schenectady County Historical Society. This exhibit is about this stoneware, much of which was made locally, how it was made and the artisans who produced it.
The exhibit and the Colonial-era farm are open Tuesdays to Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment until Sept. 27.
Film series begins
The Arkell Museum at Canajoharie announces the beginning of its newest film series "Famous & Fabulous Film Biographies" tonight at 7:30 p.m., with the 1949 version of "All The King's Men." The film will be introduced and discussed by the Schenectady Gazette's and CBS 6's film critic, Dan DiNicola.
