Wonderful Nigerian Calabash Shekere (Gourd Rattles)

  No band or group is complete without a few !!   

These Nigerian Calabash Shekere (Shakers/rattles) are made with Seeds woven into a netting around a hollowed gourd. This is a traditional rattle found through out Africa. You can play it a variety of ways, you can shake it, twist it, tap it, tug on the netting whatever urge strikes you is great.  They sound better the more they are used!  These are pretty large, larger than those we have offered in the past, with apx 8" diameter, and 12+" long.  Very Beautiful.
